GMN.com to provide exclusive classical, jazz and opera content for the Intel Weboutfitter service
SAN DIEGO, June 10, 1999 - GMN.com (Global Music Network), a streaming audio and video destination for classical and jazz music on the World Wide Web, today announced it will provide 50 hours of programming for the Intel® WebOutfitterSM Service. The Service, at intelweboutfitter.com, is a new Internet destination that provides Pentium® III processor owners with a convenient starting point for experiencing new content, Web sites, tools and tips designed to maximize their Internet experience.

Among the selections offered from GNM.com will be live jazz and classical music from prestigious clubs, halls and festivals around the world. Birdland and JVC in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, Mozart festivals from San Diego and Oklahoma, opera from Russia, and recitals from Hong Kong are included in this premium service.

In addition, new releases by distinguished artists will be available to members of the Service first. Visitors can enjoy streaming audio and video music selections by using RealPlayer technology from RealNetworks Inc. or Windows Media Technologies 4.0 from Microsoft Corp. They also can download featured music using Liquid Audio technology from Liquid Audio.

`We are proud to be among the Intel WebOutfitter Service`s music offerings that include companies at the forefront of Internet-based music and technology,` said GMN.com Chief Executive Officer Mike Lubin. `Our artists are also pleased to be part of this revolution, which could serve to re-energize the classical and jazz sectors. Our exclusive audio content is supplemented by educational and entertainment content in video and text formats, all linked by a user-friendly interface to provide a new kind of musical experience. This new way to experience music is made possible by technology advances such as the Pentium III processor.`

The Intel announcement is the third major affiliation in six weeks for GMN.com, Lubin noted. The GMN.com site, http://www.gmn.com, is now prominently positioned within Microsoft`s Web Events site, http://webevents.microsoft.com; and GMN.com`s exclusive programming is now distributed in RealNetworks` RealChannels and featured in RealGuide, the leading destination for streaming media content on the Internet.

`The Intel WebOutfitter Service provides Pentium III processor-based PC owners with a rich online music community in which they can both enjoy and create music on the Internet, ` said Tom Galvin, director of market development, Intel`s Content Group. `We are pleased to offer streaming classical and jazz music content from GMN.com to our members.` About GMN.com Offering a confluence of music, video, text and images, GMN.com presents a high-impact experience to site visitors. Its hallmark is an intimate, multimedia experience with the world`s finest musicians, conductors and artists. These artists, exclusively online with GMN.com, perform, give interviews on music and non-musical topics, make recommendations, and serve as navigators through the site. The emphasis is on live, exciting performances from prestigious venues with entertaining and educational links. The GMN.com Web site also provides free and immediate access to its comprehensive database of other complete works of music and will soon offer visitors the ability to purchase and download custom-compiled works. The site plans to broaden its artistic venue by bringing an entire array of cultural and performing arts to its site. GMN.com has offices in London, New York and San Diego. About WebOutfitter Introduced in March 1999, the Intel WebOutfitter Service delivers cutting-edge content, tools and tutorials designed to enhance the Internet experience for consumers of Pentium III processor-based computers. As a result of a collaboration with GMN.com and other technology leaders, Intel will provide music lovers with one comprehensive location where users can turn their performance PCs into virtual music gateways.
