Katrin Meriloo

Competed At European Selection Round

Age 23, Estonia

Katrin Meriloo was born in Tallinn, Estonia. She began music studies at the age of four and in 1992 graduated from Music High Scholl in Tallinn with a diploma in Chamber music. She studied organ with Toomas Trass, Ines Maidre and Hugo Lepnurm. In 1993, she entered the Sibelius-Academy in Helsinki and studied under Kari Jussila, receiving her organ diploma in 1998 with top marks. Since 1996 she has studied organ with Hans-Ola Ericsson at the Music Academy in Piteā, Sweden.

Since 1992, Ms Meriloo has performed at recitals and other concerts throughout Estaoni, Latvia, Sweden and Finland. Since December 1997, she has performed at the Rovaniemi, Lumijoki, Iisalmi and Naantali churches in Finland, the Piteā Music Academy in Sweden, the Kaarli church in Tallinn, and St. Paul’s church in Viljandi, Estonia, and the Trinity and St. Anna’s churches in Liepaja, Latvia. She recently played with the Riga Cathedral in Latvia. She has recorded with choirs, soloists and orchestras.

In 1997 she received first prize in the Lahti International Competition in Finland, Katrin Meriloo is co-founder and cembalist of the baroque ensembles Famuli Musicae and QuatTrio.
