Marie-Claire Alain

Renowned concert organist, recording artist and teacher, Marie-Claire Alain has had a long performing career that has led her to tours and concerts throughout the world. Often called "the First Lady of the organ" in the United States, she has received honorary doctorates from Colorado State University and Southern Methodist University, Texas. She has to her credit more than 220 recordings, many of which have won awards. Dr. Alain is a sought-after teacher because of her extensive musicological studies in organ literature and her lectures illustrated with musical examples. She holds a summer workshop in Switzerland and is a teacher at the Conservatoire National de Région de Rueil-Malmaison, near Paris.
