Biography

Wendy Gillespie

Wendy Gillespie is regarded as one of the leading players of bowed string instruments of the middle ages, Renaissance and baroque periods. She has played with many leading ensembles from the New York Pro Musica to Ensemble Sequentia, and is a founding member of the viol consorts Les Filles de Sainte-Colombe and Fretwork. Wendy Gillespie has participated in more then 40 recordings on such labels as Virgin Classics, Harmonia Mundi, Columbia and Dorian, and has performed in concert and on television and radio all over the world. She currently teaches a wide variety of subjects in the Early Music Institute Indiana University.
